Crossword Puzzle

Each puzzle is assembled entirely in your browser from a built-in word bank of terms and their clues. The generator shuffles the bank with a seed, places the first word, then repeatedly slots in more words wherever they can cross a shared letter, keeping words from touching side-by-side. The result is a connected, interlocking grid, numbered the classic way for Across and Down entries.

Daily and random puzzles

• Today's Puzzle. seeds the generator from the current date, so everyone gets the same crossword each day.
• Random Puzzle. picks a fresh seed for a brand-new layout whenever you want more.

Controls

• Click a cell to select it; click again to toggle between the Across and Down word.
• Click a clue to jump straight to that entry.
• Type letters to fill the highlighted word; it auto-advances to the next cell.
• Backspace clears and steps back; arrow keys move around the grid.
• Tab jumps to the next clue.

Helpers

• Check. marks correct letters green and incorrect letters red.
• Reveal Word. fills in the currently selected entry.
• Reveal All. completes the whole grid.
• Clear. empties your answers to start over.

The timer starts when you enter your first letter and stops when every square is correct. All processing is local; no answers or progress ever leave your device.
